I am not taking another one. NotForMe taken for 1 to 6 months April 22, For Vitamin B12 Deficiency "I started injections about a two months ago. The first month was an injection once a week. Now I go once a month. The only thing I have noticed is a huge increase in back pain. I had to go to the emergency twice! No one told me I might have pain. But it makes sense, my nerves are waking up.

Also I feel seriously bloated. Sometimes my jeans fit fine, sometimes they are tight. It's not vanity, I am fighting diabetes with diet and exercise, so the weight changes are disheartening. Other than the pain and bloat I don't really notice much difference.

Tessamess taken for 1 to 6 months December 21, For Vitamin B12 Deficiency "No after taste at unlike all the others that I have tried -- and it does not cause awful tasting gas unlike all the others that I have tried. Smaller than most of the others too! Astroraider December 8, For Vitamin B12 Deficiency "I was on Vitamin B12 injections years ago and felt good, the thing is my workmates mentioned how I was different. I also have a thyroid problem and have started my injections again.

I just didn't know why or what had me feeling so bad.

I was diagnosed with BiPolar, but I wonder even with just B12 deficiency or thyroid alone, they have such a impact. But together I am very affected. For B12 Nutritional Deficiency "I feel more energetic and can focus more the first 2 weeks of injection. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2x and now am age 55 I increasingly find that I am dependent on the b12 for energy, mood and weight maintenance.

I can tell when my levels are low without a calendar as this usually occurs about days before the end of the month when I am do for my shot. I thought it be something to try. I've noticed that I'm much more alert for a greater portion of the day. I'm not suffering the afternoon slump.

However, there do not appear to be any published, controlled clinical studies demonstrating whether these patches are safe and effective, or comparing the use of these patches to oral B supplementation. But when a person needs pharmacologic doses of B along with folate and B-6 to lower dangerous levels of homocysteine, the recommended dietary allowances do not apply. There should not be a single interpretation for B requirements based on correcting deficiencies.

B absorption required for administration of higher amounts of B in people with homocysteine elevation must be considered separately. I would like to see if oral lozenges are better in that other circumstance. More generally, I would like to see Consumerlab. Higher amounts are required to treat deficiency, and this is clearly noted in our Reviews. Regarding your interest in lozenges, there does not seem to be any evidence suggesting that these would be a better way to take B vitamins.

My main interest in making that comment, though, was not in treating deficiencies but in the use of some of the metabolic functions of these nutrients at super "normal" levels to treat other diseases or to prevent diseases not normally associated with a deficiency of that nutrient. An example would be vitamin D3, which has a very low minimal requirement for bone health, but which requires sometimes ten times as much to achieve its effects at improving insulin sensitivity in diabetes or pre-diabetes or its published positive effects on brain function.

This is what I was referring to with regard to B lowering high levels of artery-damaging blood homocysteine levels. This might require several times more B than is needed to correct deficiencies. This is not to argue a point with your answer, which was fine. It is merely to request additional mention of these things in your answers. For example, high-dose niacin can lower cholesterol.
