There are 3 stories in this book. I waited expectantly for it to be released today. It is truly a waste of my money and time. I am very disappointed in this book. You get three stories that I have already purchased in three books and read. Then I purchased this book. I did not read anywhere in the description that these were already published stories. I am not sure who I should be more angry at Mr. This "new" book was actually a collection of three previously-published James Patterson "Bookshots" that I already read. I really should have looked at all the other customer reviews before I purchased it.
What a disappointment - I returned it for a credit. Very disappointed and Mr Patterson should be issuing refunds. This book does not bring these 3 characters together. It is 3 shorter length books. Lots of twists and action in each one. Each story gives more insight to the characters. These stories also relate to current novels of the characters.
It is best to read the novels first but not essential. These are standalone stories and great for first time reads if one has never read a book from the series before. I also have read all three books. They should have said that they were previously released books. I have returned my book for credit. I've been a James Patterson fan for a long time now. I don't expect all these stories to be "blockbusters" but I don't expect to be "Cheated" either. And another thing Mr. Patterson you are using way too many "F" words for my taste - try to keep in mind - we don't all use and appreciate that kind of language!
One person found this helpful. Reason being these were stories he did before and this book was advertised like it was a brand new book. It is up to the ladies to find out what has happened. Micheal Bennet - witnesses a terrorist attack on the Thanksgivings parade and gives the surviving terrorist chase. He does lose them and is added to a FBI taskforce to apprehend to surviving culprit of this attack.
He will soon find out that this terrorist attack is far more than what it seems. All three novellas are likable but none has the wow factor, they are decent entertainment and pass the time as is with anything from the Patterson factory. Jul 30, Preston rated it really liked it. Triple Homicide presents three new crime stories for James Patterson.
Starting off with Alex Cross and his wife searching for a bomber before he strikes again. This story is an intense storyline that is a page turner with an interesting ending. Full of non stop mystery, this truly has an ending that is original. Triple Homicide ends with Michael Bennett dealing with a bombing during the Triple Homicide presents three new crime stories for James Patterson. Triple Homicide ends with Michael Bennett dealing with a bombing during the Thanksgiving parade.
The mystery seemed to lack originality in regards to suspects, yet featured an interesting storyline. This however leaves the reader with a couple questions at the end. Jul 26, Barbara Zannini rated it really liked it Shelves: I mean, the individual stories weren't terrible Kim I felt the same way. I was excited to get new stories but no such luck Sep 11, Aug 04, Laurie Lewis rated it really liked it.
It was three short stories I thought the three were going to be working together in a blowout adventure Jul 23, Holly rated it liked it Shelves: Make it happen, James Patterson!!! Jul 22, Pam Barton rated it liked it. It was 3 short stories. I thought it would be one novel with the 3 characters.
Three previously published stories tied together in one is presented here in Triple Homicide. It's 'your worst nightmare' says the caller when she asked who it was calling her. Could it be a loved one of a vet who is concerned over the recent actions or inactions of Congress to help those who served? Well I'll let you in on a secret it's one of the three mentioned above. In the second part we enter The Women's Murder Club involving a woman and her lover not her husband. Wrong place wrong time?!
A shooter enters the room, blows away the lover, and wounds the millionairess leaving her for dead. The woman survives after coming too in a morgue.
Oh yeah, well it turns out that some people suffer from what's known as catalepsy. She is one of them! Her husband Robert is dumbfounded and she's now filing for divorce. It turns out Robert has a secret sexual orientation and relationship and she wants no part of it. On with the show folks Now on to the third part of the Michael Bennett story involving a terrorist and a major parade.
Holiday Terror is the new dubbed name but for me it was so bad I didn't even take notes on it. Someone attacked innocent bystanders in front of Michael at a Thanksgiving Day Parade and the hunt is on to bring the person in. It's not one of J. P's finest works but was good enough to barely squeak on by. You know it's always hit or miss and for me this was not what I hoped. Aug 22, Karen Birman kent rated it liked it.
The first was about Alex Cross trying to solve random bombings in downtown DC. Alex's wife Bree would receive a phone call alerting her that there was going to be a bomb but the damage was always minimal. Then Kate WIlliams, a troubled young lady going to Alex for counseling developed a theory on who was doing the bombing. It ended up being a boy named Mickey whose dad had lost his legs and 1 arm when an AED blew up in Afghanistan.
HE was trying unique 3 story book all involving James PAtterson. HE was trying to get the Senates attention to protect the care of veterans. The second story was from the Womens Murder Club. A naked man and woman were found with multiple gunshot wounds dead in Warwick hotel but all of her jewelry was missing and he had no ID on him.
Ends up she had married a much younger man for the companionship but would regularly meet this guy for sex in a motel. Her husband had a friend who was gay and he decided that if he could get rid of Joan Murphy, he could have her husband all to himself. The 3rd story was from Michael Bennett series. They were at a Macy Thanksgiving parade when a truck drove into the crowd killing several people and then he blew up the truck he had driven.
Darya from Russia came to help Michael who had been the only person to see the guy in person. It ended strangely with the man Tehir Marat being killed by Darya but he had been forced to do those things because his wife and child were being held. The story never addressed that and you're left not being sure if Darya was involved or not Sep 13, Jordyn Redwood rated it really liked it. Listened to this on audio CDs. Have to say that Hachette really does well the the audio recordings of James Patterson's books and this one is right up there. It is a book containing three novellas.
I liked the Michael Bennett one the best. The Alex Cross one was very agenda driven but still enjoyable. I was least impressed with the Women's Murder Club story, but I don't read that series so that could defin Listened to this on audio CDs. A nice entry into the James Patterson empire. Aug 03, Marleen rated it it was ok. The 3 short stories here are reasonably okay, in the sense that they are entertaining enough to finish them, because of the sympathetic characters.
In the first story, Alex Cross deals with bomb threats, so no homicide there. The second story features the Women's murder club, with Cindy, the reporter, and Claire, the medical examiner at the forefront, and finally the third story, was maybe the best, featuring Michael Bennett, with all his children attending NY's Macy's Parade when a crazy man plo The 3 short stories here are reasonably okay, in the sense that they are entertaining enough to finish them, because of the sympathetic characters.

Not great stories, but passably okay. These were three stories that were originally published on their own as part of the Book Shot group which is James Patterson characters in stories of usually - pages maximum - I had already read The Women's Murder Club - Medical Examiner. Detective Cross bridges between Cross the Line and The People vs Alex Cross and Manhunt carries on from the last Micheal Bennett book by briefly touching on the oldest son being in jail.
I won this book from Goodreads. James Patterson is one of my favorite authors, and Alex Cross is one of my favorite characters. The book had 3 parts The book is well worth a read Short stories featuring characters in Patterson series. Detective Cross featured a story about vets and the government treatment for them. Like the Kate Williams character and her heroine part in the ending. The Medical Examiner story, featuring Conklin mainly along with Claire, was a little far fetched. Manhunt was a twist on a terrorist attack in New York. It was short but complex and Michael Bennett is right in the middle of it all.
Aug 12, juliahalton rated it did not like it. Disappointed I missed the part where it said this was old material. Since I have read every one of Patterson's books, of course I had read them all. First time I have ever given a Patterson book less than five stars. I am still a no. For someone who has been considering starting one of these series, it was a good introduction to the characters.
